Bruce passed away on March 19, 2024 at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. with his wife, Diane, by his side after a short illness. Born in Palmer, Ma to the late Wesley and Gloria (Smith) Rhodes, he was 1977 graduate of Ludlow High School where he was a member of the band as a tuba player. He worked at Hamilton Standard for over 36 years retiring in 2015 and was a current resident of Port Orange, Florida. Bruce was a proud member of the Shriners of Springfield and spent many years as president of the Melha Shriner Military Band, he loved playing music and he had many guitars that he was perfecting. Bruce also had a Honda trike motorcycle that he loved to ride for hours. The beach was his happy place, but meeting his first grandson, Lincoln, this past Christmas was his proudest moment. Bruce was married to the love of his life, Diane (Mackintosh) Rhodes for nearly 24 years. A father to Melissa, Andrew and his wife Ashlee and a very proud grandpa to Lincoln. Bruce also leaves his sister Priscilla DeWinkeleer. He was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Dumont and a niece Lynn Martin and also leaves several extended family members and friends especially his best friend Mike Slepecki. Funeral services for Bruce will be held on Tuesday, March 26th, 2024 from the Ludlow Funeral Home. Visiting hours are Tuesday morning from 9:30am to 11:00am with a chapel service Beginning at 11:00am with Monsignor Homer Gosselin presiding. Burial will follow in Island Pond Cemetery in Ludlow.
