Ezaura Nunes, 100, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 12. Laura, as she preferred to be called, was the daughter of the late Joseph and Joaquina Nunes. Born and educated in Ludlow, she worked at Monsanto Chemical Co. before leaving to care for her parents. Laura enjoyed making crafts, cooking and baking. Laura will also be remembered for her favorite catch- phrases: "So far, so good" and "You have a good day now".
Laura was predeceased by seven sisters and their spouses: Armanda Bechard (Arthur), Amelia Charland (Lionel), Mary Axiotis (George), Tillie Mayoski (Roman), Ida Methot (Carlton), Aurora Desautels (Albert) and Gloria Allard. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothea and Arthur Day, her special niece, Judith Day-Sanderson and her partner David Burroughs, and Judith's two children Cole and Tory Sanderson. Laura also leaves many nieces, nephews and extended family. The family would like to thank the staff at Vantage at Wilbraham and Beacon Hospice for the support and care given to Laura.
Funeral services for Laura will be held on Saturday, March 16th. Visitation is from 10:00-11:00am in Ludlow Funeral Home concluding with a funeral home chapel service at 11:00am and followed by burial in St, Aloysius Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions in Laura's name may be made to the charity of one's choice.
