Obituary for Francisco Alves
Francisco Alves, 77, of Ludlow passed away on July 13, 2018.  Born in Montalegre, Portugal he has lived in Ludlow for many years and was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a proud member of the Gremio Lusitano Club. Francisco was an avid hunter and gardener and a devoted fan of Porto soccer.  He leaves his beloved wife Maria Surreira Alves of Ludlow; loving children Antonio Alves and his wife Amanda of Ludlow and Elisa Killeen and her husband Donald of Ludlow; cherished granddaughters Sara, Emilia and Eleanor; dear sisters Maria Afonso and husband Jose, Teresa Dos Santos and sister in law Maria Helena Alves. Sadly Francisco was predeceased by his parents Jose Joaquim and Esperanca Alves; his siblings Jose Alves, Diolinda Alves, Emilia Surreira and Inacia Gomes.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 18, 2018 at 9:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are Tuesday evening from 4:00-7:00pm. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Francisco’s name to: Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, Ma 01104.
