Joao Vaz ,79, of Ludlow passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 4, 2018. Born in Negroes, Portugal to Manuel and Maria Vaz, he has lived in Ludlow for many years and was a faithful communicate of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a proud member of the Gremio Lusitano Club. He was predeceased by his first wife Dorothy Vaz in 1987. He leaves his beloved wife Ana (Borges dos Reis) Vaz of Ludlow; loving children Carlos Vaz and his wife Elizabeth of Florida, Maria Cicchetti and her husband Dino of Feeding Hills and Kathleen Mateus and her husband Nuno of Ludlow: caring sisters Marcelina Machado, Maria Castro, and brother Julio Vaz; adored grandfather of 5. Funeral services for Joao will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from the Ludlow Funeral Home, visiting hours are from 9 AM to 10:15 AM with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
